Nigeria: Gunmen kill at least 40 civilians in Plateau

This Tuesday, authorities in the state of Plateau, in central Nigeria, reported that at least 40 people lost their lives, including civilians and those responsible for surveillance tasks, during an attack carried out by armed men against the mining town of Zurak Kompani.

The attack on the village occurred around 07:00 (local time) last Monday, but it wasn't until this Tuesday that residents of the town were able to report what happened and security forces managed to reach the scene.

The residents were carrying out their daily activities when armed strangers, aboard motorcycles, shot into the town. They also burned down several houses, Telesur details.
