With the recent reform of the Organic Law of Justice of Communal Peace, the National Assembly (AN) is paying a historic debt that the State owed to the Venezuelan people, said the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.

“With this reform of the Law that the National Assembly has carried out in an exemplary process of consultation and debate with the People's Power and which has established the manner, base, form and organization of Justice of the Peace in the territories, we are paying a historic debt of 25 years and we are going to the election of justices of the peace with the very advanced reform that has been made of this law,” said the Head of State during the installation of the National Electoral Commission that will organize the election of justices of the peace, on December 15.

In this regard, the President emphasized that in previous years, despite what was established in the Constitution, attempts were made to legislate in order to bring the administration of justice closer to the People's Power without obtaining greater results.

In the same way, he stressed that the election of justices of the peace is protected by those established in article 258 of our constitution.
