Coffee production has experienced exponential growth in recent years, going from a production yield per hectare of 17 quintals to 20 quintals per hectare in 2024, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, said.

“In 2022, we had a cultivated area of 212 thousand 861 hectares with a production of 3 million 600 thousand quintals, which is equivalent to 17 quintals per hectare. In 2023, we had a cultivated area of 226 thousand hectares and a production of 4 million 77 thousand, equivalent to 18 quintals per hectare. In 2024, we increased to 237 thousand 879 hectares with a production of 4 million 757 thousand quintals, which is equivalent to 20 quintals per hectare,” said the Head of State during his participation in the 3rd international meeting of Venezuelan specialty coffee.

In this regard, the President emphasized that coffee is the productive sector that first began to show signs of recovery, diversification and productive expansion.

“What I say to the people who talk about pistoladas is: What counts is reality and what coffee has done is consolidate its growth,” he said.
