Nicolás Maduro: More than 5 million Venezuelans participated in PSUV meetings

More than 5 million Venezuelans have participated in the popular assemblies called for the members of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) to nominate their candidates for the elections on May 25, said the president of the red curtain, Nicolás Maduro.
During a telephone contact with Venezolana de Televisión, the President of the Republic also indicated that, at 6 in the afternoon, 59,622 candidates had run for governors, deputies to the National Assembly, and deputies of legislative councils.
“Of the candidates, 28,388 are women, while 31,192 are men. It means that the basic application process that we are doing is a total success,” he emphasized while stressing that 47,263 assemblies were held throughout the country for the selection of these candidates.
In the same way, he highlighted the level of revolutionary consciousness possessed by the Venezuelan people who have never surrendered and will never surrender, despite the attacks.
“This is the prelude to the successful elections for governorates, National Assembly and Legislative Councils on May 25. We are on the way to a great democratic success,” he emphasized.
