During 2023, the country's credit activity grew by 94% compared to 2022, said the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.
During the presentation of his Annual Message to the National Assembly, the Head of State assured that the funding provided over the past year reached 1,472 billion dollars.
In this regard, the Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, explained that during 2023 there was a line of work that allowed this expansion of credit activity to go directly to productive activity.
“Everything that has to do with increasing agricultural, agricultural and fishing development is related to this financing policy,” he said, while stressing that the Bank of Venezuela is the leader in providing financing and attention to social programs.
On the other hand, the President indicated that during the past year a record supply figure was reached in the country, reaching 96.7%.
“With the increase in domestic production and commercial activity, we have reached these levels of supply achieved in times of economic war and imperialist blockade. We achieved it with effort and sacrifice,” he said.
He also noted that the industrial sector reported growth of 3.93 percent in the third quarter, while commercial activity grew by 3.49 percent in the same period.
Private manufacturing accumulated 10 quarters of sustained growth, while food and beverage manufacturing production showed signs of recovery, increasing 1.64% in the third quarter.
“In five years, Venezuela has been democratized and land titles have been awarded to 13,956,000 hectares to peasants, incorporating 427,000 families into domestic production, overcoming the so-called agrarian reform of the Fourth Republic,” he said.
