New ministerial board appointed in the Defense portfolio

During the award for Officers for 33 years of service to the Fatherland, the Chief General, Vladímir Padrino López, announced new appointments to the ministerial board that makes up the Defense Office on Tuesday.

This time, it involved the delivery and reception of positions from the Deputy Ministries of Defense Education, Defense Services, Planning and Development; in addition to the General Inspectorate and Comptroller General of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) and the General Strategic Directorate for Monitoring and Evaluation of Public Policies.

“A task accomplished, a mission accomplished, a task to continue doing,” said the Sectorial Vice President for Defense and Sovereignty, after extending his thanks to those who came and went into office.

Therefore, the Deputy Ministry of Education is assumed by Major General Omar Pérez la Rosa; the Deputy Ministry of Planning and Development for Defense is in charge of Major General Henry David Rodríguez Martínez and Major General José Alfredo Rivera Bastardo will be responsible for the Deputy Ministry of Defense Services.

With regard to the positions of Inspector General and Comptroller General of the FANB, Major Generals Rafael David Prieto Martínez and José Rafael Serrano Gotera, respectively; while Division General José Viloria Romero was appointed Director General of the Strategic Office for Monitoring and Evaluation of Public Policies in this ministerial portfolio.

In this regard, the Minister of Popular Power for Defense also urged the newly appointed to work based on the five strategies prioritized in the FANB, oriented on ideological projection and doctrine; civic-military-police fusion, the self-sustainability of the military institution, technological innovation and operational readiness.

Likewise, the country's highest military authority specified that this ministerial portfolio began with the Ayacucho Development Plan 2024, and also mentioned that internal transformation is part of the tasks to be carried out.

“We are what education has done to us,” stressed the Chief General, urging the newly appointed Deputy Minister of Education for Defense to continue his administration with the training policy.

Recognition

At that same event, held in the Simon Bolivar Hall of the Ministry of Defense, the highest authority of the FANB awarded the promotion of officers graduated in 1991 with the Orders of Liberation, Liberators of Venezuela, Supreme Commander Hugo Chávez and of National Defense, and with the delivery of the replica of GJ Rafael Urdaneta's sabre.

Regarding these officers with 33 years of service who now move to the active reserve, the head of the military institution thanked them for their demonstrated and proven commitment and loyalty in the field, as well as for their example and legacy to their subordinates. He also congratulated the arms race professionals who had their service extended for their skills and experience.
