This Tuesday, a new earthquake of magnitude 5.0 occurred in the territory of Myanmar, near the border with India, the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center reported, as reported by the Tass news agency.

The epicenter was located 16 km southeast of the city of Mandalay, where about 1.2 million inhabitants live. The hypocenter was located at a depth of 10 km.

On March 28, a strong earthquake occurred in Myanmar. The Thai Meteorological Department estimated the magnitude of the earthquake in Burma at 8.2 degrees. Then, a second earthquake of 6.4 degrees occurred.

As a result, more than 2,000 people lost their lives in Myanmar and residential buildings and infrastructure were damaged. The number of fatalities in Bangkok rose to 20.
