The Zionist Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, after visiting Budapest, the capital of Hungary, landed Sunday night in Washington, capital of the United States (USA), for fleeing arrest ordered by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for war crimes committed against Palestine.

Netanyahu's flight to the U.S. capital was forced to take a longer route to fly over U.S. military bases in case he could be forced to land urgently in a country that could arrest the Israeli premier, as reported by the Israeli daily Haaretz.

The aircraft avoided flying over European countries such as Ireland, Iceland and the Netherlands, where Israeli authorities expected that they would comply with Netanyahu's arrest warrant from the ICC in the event of an emergency landing, according to Hispantv.

Netanyahu's visit to Hungary was his first visit to European soil since the Court in The Hague issued arrest warrants on November 21 against Netanyahu and his former minister of military affairs Yoav Gallant, accused of war crimes for the genocide in the Gaza Strip, which has lasted since October 2023.
