The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, warned that regarding the upcoming Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), there is a campaign of intrigue to weaken and divide.

In this regard, he specified, during the 25th Meeting of the Political Council of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), that “we already have that experience, so let's prepare for before, during and after this summit (...) to guarantee the absolute success of CELAC as an advanced instance of encounter, of articulation between our peoples”.

He also added that it is important for this regional block to take “the course of transforming itself from a political forum to an organization of union for action and for the liberation of an entire continent in this multipolar, pluricentric world that has emerged.”
