The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, urged the population to carry out “a work of education and positive management of social networks .”

This reflection was carried out by the Head of State in conversation with the political scientist and communicator Juan Carlos Monedero, in his program Con Maduro+.

“It is necessary and prudent that social networks serve for education, for entertainment, for transmitting the truth of countries, in this case of Venezuela, for values, for positive strengthening in youth, in the family,” he said.

He also analyzed the actions necessary to democratize the use of social networks in Venezuela in the context of the challenges that arise in the future.

He pointed out that “it would be pertinent to think, study, design the construction of a powerful movement of movement that impacts the life of social networks and communication and world culture based on a human alternative”. He took the opportunity to call for building a powerful global alternative social media movement - assuring - “that social networks unify us all”.

The National President insisted on the need to promote digital literacy to “transmit the truth of countries, they cannot be communication tools to promote uncertainty or lies in the population, lies, for anti-values, for pornography and for other unspeakable things that are out there”.

He added that this weekend (June 2) a national workshop will be held on the correct use and opportunities of social networks “to defend the truth of Venezuela.”
