National president proposes to create the Venezuela-Colombia Industrial Economic Zone

This Thursday, September 5, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, ratified his proposal to negotiate a large Industrial Economic Zone for Investment, Production and Trade on the border of the state of Táchira and the North of Santander.

At the Bolivar Park Convention Center, in La Carlota, where he presided over the 2nd. Venezuela-Colombia Binational Tourism Exchange, stated that “we are prepared to negotiate and sign special conditions, thanks to the Organic Law of Special Economic Zones.”

He also highlighted that Venezuela already has projects underway to build Binational Tourism Corridors.

Also, as an example of the potential tourism market, he said that “we have the goal of bringing one million Chinese tourists a year. We are working on that, we have made progress on the China-Venezuela direct flight.”
