Since 1955, Venezuelan Physician's Day has been celebrated every March 10 in Venezuela, in honor of these people who work with a vocation for the lives of all human beings regardless of race, creed or social class. This date was also selected by the Venezuelan Medical Federation to commemorate the birth of the doctor and former president of Venezuela, José María Vargas, an example in the practice of medicine.
The profession of doctor is one of the most sacrificed, out of vocation and love of neighbor. All human beings need your help.
During the Bolivarian Revolution, great achievements have been made in medicine and the dignity of health has been vindicated as a Sovereign Right. And today more than ever the people are counting on the help and attention of these tireless fighters.
In the same way, for them to reach the people, the Revolution has promoted the creation of the Barrio Adentro Mission, Misión Milagro, Misión Sonrisa, Misión José Gregorio Hernández, Misión Niño Jesús, Comprehensive Diagnostic Centers, Popular Pharmacies and the installation of specialized centers such as Children's Cardiology. So it fills Venezuelans with pride, to celebrate Doctor's Day as a worthy date in Revolution.
In addition, in this time of pandemic, these men and women have followed those who have been at the forefront of this first line of battle, demonstrating an indispensable work for the health of the people.
