The ALBA National Movement Meeting, Venezuela chapter, concluded with the publication of a Political Document against Imperialism and Fascism, where more than 37 Venezuelan social movements and more than 40 communes expressed the importance of defending unity and the Bolivarian Revolution, besieged by the blockade imposed by the United States Government, through coercive and unilateral measures.
Strengthening Popular Power as a center for the integration of grass-roots organizations is another of the conclusions of this national meeting. In the same way, they agreed to deliver the document to the country in order to communalize the Revolution, as contributions to this new phase of transition to socialism and to the National Congress of the Historical Bloc.
In this regard, the executive secretary of ALBA-TCP, Jorge Arreaza, who stressed that “talking about the communalization of our peoples is also talking about decolonization, it is going to Simón Rodríguez and his originality and his project, which cannot be a copy (...) It is how, from this territory, we managed to definitely change the structure of the social order, of the economic order”.
He said that imperialist aggression, with its assassination attempts, with its agenda of violence, must be combated through communalization, the union of the people, the rural workers, with productive and political alliances from all sectors of society.
Arreaza urged the communal councils and communes of Venezuela to renew their leadership and to discuss the ideas of economy and management, and to prepare for other episodes that will emerge in the national territory.
As a third point, the document established the following: We declare ourselves in an active and permanent struggle against the imperialist agenda and against fascism that seeks, through violence, discrimination and the denial of Chavism, to take away from the Bolivarian Revolution the political power that it has legitimately conquered with the popular victory of President Nicolás Maduro.
Likewise, the meeting served to build a common agenda of struggle that from now on will be carried out in different regions of the country in order to expand and strengthen the organization and range of action of the ALBA Movements, Venezuela chapter.
On the other hand, social movements agreed to hold the symposium “Communalizing ALBA” on November 29 and 30, to bring contributions to the ALBA-TCP Summit of Presidents and Heads of State to be held in December in the context of the 20th anniversary of the Alliance.
