The Apacuana National Educational Unit and the Regulus Rico Educational Unit were rehabilitated through the Venezuela Renace plan, after being affected by the double earthquake of June 24.

The works, according to a press release, benefit more than 1,230 students in the Plaza municipality and included repairs to classrooms, ceilings and bathrooms, furnishing furniture and improvements to common areas.

During the reinauguration, the governor of Miranda, Elio Serrano, highlighted the challenge of keeping the entity's educational institutions, which serve more than half a million students, in good condition.

“We have 530,000 students in everything that is preschool, primary and general middle school. It is an important challenge to have schools equipped as our children and young people deserve, so every effort to improve these conditions must be recognized and applauded,” he said.

For his part, the mayor of Plaza, Antonio Galíndez, pointed out that eleven educational institutions in the municipality are being intervened with the participation of the three levels of government and the chambers of self-government
