This Tuesday, January 28, the Bolivarian Government began asphalting work on the Caracas-La Guaira highway, within the framework of the National Plan for Comprehensive Road Care 2025.
This was reported by the Minister of Popular Power for Transportation, Ramón Velásquez Araguayan, through a video posted on his Instagram account, in which he is seen accompanied by the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez.
“We started it from the city, it's 38 kilometers of paved road from the airport (Simon Bolivar International) to kilometer zero of the Caracas-La Guaira highway,” Velásquez explained from the La Planicie tunnel.
He stressed that this plan, which will be extended nationwide, will cover, together with the four levels of government, bridges, edge faults, sewers and agricultural roads.
“We will be accompanied by the national, regional, local and communal government (...) to exceed 2 million tons of asphalt,” he emphasized.
For his part, Meléndez celebrated the launch of the National Plan for Comprehensive Road Care in Caracas.
This program is part of “the second T of Transformations (...) and starting with roads to improve highways in Caracas. Together everything is possible,” said Meléndez.
He pointed out that it is a work of strategic impact for the Nation, since it constitutes a high-traffic road that affects the social, economic and tourist aspects of our territory.
The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro approved this Monday, January 27, more than 205 million euros for the development of these works on the country's roads.
