To strategically address the needs of the country's prison population and ensure procedural speed, the General Staff for Prison Care was created.

This was reported by the Sectorial Vice President for Public Security and Peace, A/J Remigio Ceballos Ichaso, who explained that this body is composed of the organs of citizen security and the Penitentiary System to ensure respect for the human rights of those deprived of their liberty.

In addition, according to a press release from the Ministry of Interior, Justice and Peace, he stressed that this joint work will allow a comprehensive approach to the Penitentiary System, as it is aimed at preventing and treating adverse situations that may occur in these facilities.
