National government and popular power waterproof blocks of La Laguna de El Lídice in Caracas

“The roof waterproofing work of four blocks, in the La Laguna de El Lídice sector, located in the spaces of the Laguna de Coromoto Community Council, La Pastora parish, has been successfully completed,” said Councilman Jesús García, president of the Permanent Commission on Living Venezuelan Urban Infrastructure, of the Caracas Municipal Council (CMC).

The spokesperson assured that it is a work that was carried out in record time, no more than 15 days, it is the first work inaugurated within the framework of the Territorial Action Plan (PAT), in its fourth cycle. “Here, in this work, there was a perfect coordination between the brigades of the Permanent Commission on Infrastructure and Urbanism, to waterproof buildings and organized Popular Power.”

He explained that masons, construction workers and the entire community joined this work to waterproof four blocks, which are a fundamental part of the requests made by the spokespersons in their Concrete Agenda for Action (ACA). “As a result of this request, we participated to prepare such a Concrete Agenda for Action.”

The Councilman assured that they reviewed their requests in the short, medium or long term. “And well, with the support of our president Nicolás Maduro, of our mayor Carmen Meléndez, the work was carried out that currently benefits more than 100 families in the community. It is worth noting that in addition to removing the old layer, we waterproof with new procedures and with new technologies to carry out a quality process.

García asserted that they also replaced the asbestos tanks, which had expired, with new, plastic tanks, of good quality and high resistance, so that the population increases water storage capacity in the sector,

New agreements with the People's Power

He explained that the Permanent Commission on Venezuelan Living Urban Infrastructure of the CMC reached several agreements with the community, in order to carry out other actions in a positive way for the benefit of its inhabitants and of the circle, “we generated a commitment with regard to the revision of the ACA.” He added that the same community has also been directly intervened by the mayor's management, replacing asbestos roofs with better quality roofs.

García stressed that within the circle of the community, they will recover the court of the José Luis Ramos District Educational Unit. He said that the La Laguna court is another sports space that will be recovered. “It's a request from the youth that we took on one of the tours.”

Belkis Zambrano Martínez, a resident of block B, La Laguna sector, in Lídice, La Pastora parish, specified that Nicolás Maduro is making a superhuman effort, in the midst of so many sanctions imposed by the United States government, “but the president, together with his Chavista people, continues to advance great objectives in favor of Venezuela.”

He mentioned that all the inhabitants of the community are satisfied with this great achievement. “Thank you, Mr. President Maduro, thanks to our mayor Carmen Meléndez, thanks to our councilman Jesús García. It was a joint effort between the staff of the Mayor's Office and some valuable neighbors of the Laguna de Coromoto Community Council.”
