The Government of Mérida and the Chinese company Green Full signed a contract to optimize electricity with a solar farm.
The Governor of Mérida, Jehyson Guzmán, explained that with the signing of the contract, work will begin to install the largest solar farm in Venezuela, which will be located in El Vigía, which will house a nominal capacity of 50 megawatts.
Through a post on his social networks, Guzmán emphasized that this project forms a set of strategies to strengthen electricity service in the Andean region, which were developed by President Nicolás Maduro.
He explained that the project was carried out with the support of the Ministry of People's Power for Electric Energy.
“The adaptation of land constitutes the first phase of work, in addition to the complementary electrical installations, and then the installation of a thousand solar panels begins,” he added.
The governor asserted that the supply of 50 megawatts of energy from these facilities represents more than 40% of the average electricity demand in the state of Mérida, which is why this project provides a significant improvement for service stability in the state.
The initiative was driven by bilateral cooperation agreements between China and Venezuela.
