The sector vice president of Communication, Culture and Tourism, Freddy Ñáñez, pointed out that social networks (RRSS) are a public health issue.
“It's a safety problem, a public health problem, it's the family, the community that has to face it. We have to give the debate; it's the mental health of our children, young people. We don't need technology that will make us addicted,” Ñáñez said during the program Cable a Tierra, broadcast by VTV Radio.
For his part, the psychologist, Fernando Giuliani, explained that it is a matter of having a critical vision of social networks, because they lend themselves to the circulation of content that confuses reality.
“The person spends their time linked to a reality, through a screen that ends up not distinguishing a reality. In networks, the way of reasoning is altered; the problem is that people create content the way they interpret their reality,” he said.
Guilani warned that networks can generate addictive habits, while stressing that we must discuss this situation, which puts the mental health of young people and children at risk, according to the Venezolana de Televisión (VTV) website.
