Myanmar earthquake fatalities exceed 3,000

The State Board of Directors confirmed this Thursday that the number of deaths following the 7.9 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar has reached 3,085, with 4,715 people injured and 341 reported missing.
For their part, rescuers, including teams from China, are continuing their search operations. So far, nine people have been rescued alive.
The Chinese Government has sent a second batch of humanitarian aid supplies, which arrived this Thursday at Yangon International Airport. This shipment includes 800 tents, 2,000 blankets, 3,000 boxes of cookies, 2,000 boxes of mineral water and other essential supplies.
The State Board of Directors thanked the international aid and assured that it will continue to coordinate rescue and assistance efforts to meet the needs of affected people.
