On June 7, 1942, the Libyan leader Muamar al-Gaddafi was born, who for more than forty years revolutionized his country's social and economic policies.

In 1969, Gaddafi overthrew the monarchy of Idris, and then the Council of the Revolution was established, declaring the country a Nasserist and socialist.

With his Green Revolution, he guaranteed his people economic stability, health and social protection, this leader unified his nation, making Libya the greatest example on the African continent.

His policy was not welcomed by many European and United States governments because it did not correspond to their interests. The empire bombed Libya in 1986 on the excuse that Gaddafi was a terrorist, and then there were two coup attempts against this revolutionary in 1992 and 1993.

Since the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution, Commander Hugo Chávez and Muamar al Gaddafi established ties of cooperation. During the last visit of the Venezuelan leader to Libya in 2009, he said: “What Simon Bolivar is to the Venezuelan people, Gaddafi is to the Libyan people,” he said.

On March 17, 2011, the United Nations Security Council authorized war against Gaddafi's troops, although limited to military objectives and without affecting the president's physical integrity. On October 20, 2011, Gaddafi tried to escape from Sirte in a heavily armed convoy, but was detected and attacked by NATO planes outside the city. Seriously wounded, Muammar Gaddafi was captured soon after by rebel soldiers and executed, Telesur reported.

After the death of Gaddafi, Libya ceased to be a prosperous country and was turned into ruins because of the “democracy” imposed by the United States in complicity with NATO

Gaddafi will be remembered for a lifetime as a fighter and, well, a martyr now,” said Commander Chávez.
