The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, announced the accession of the Public Ministry (MP) to the application for amparo for the protection of children and adolescents introduced by the Aristobulo Istúriz Bolivarian Family Movement.

Saab believes that the events that have taken place in recent days are extremely serious because three children have been killed and dozens injured.

“There must be control of social networks (RRSS) in Venezuela, as there are in all countries,” said the Attorney General after a public hearing held at the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ).

In this regard, he stated that it is pertinent for Venezuela to demand that a physical headquarters be established for social networks, where users can go and make their requests, complaints, claims and have a response.

“We have to act as a State protecting our children and adolescents and the Public Ministry plays a fundamental role,” he said.

He emphasized that children are innocent and in Venezuela there are family values. “We cannot allow these types of networks to act with impunity,” he said.

He argued that there are strong institutions in Venezuela. “I have always been a total believer in the principle of cooperation between public authorities to seek solutions together,” he said.
