This Wednesday, the presidential spokesman of the Russian Federation, Dmitri Peskov, stated that the question of the legitimacy of Vladimir Zelensky and his prohibition to negotiate with Moscow may hinder the search for a solution to the conflict in Ukraine.

Peskov argued that Russia does not consider any other option other than achieving its objectives, either as a result of the military operation or through peace negotiations.

However, he indicated that Moscow still prefers to end the conflict peacefully, stressing that the start of the special military operation represented a last resort.

Previously, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Dmitri Kuleba, said in a conversation with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, that Kiev is willing to negotiate with Moscow to end the conflict.
