The Sectorial Vice President for Science, Technology, Education and Health, Gabriela Jiménez, assured this Friday, October 11, that “today we are celebrating the graduation of 5,700 new health professionals who serve the Homeland, who bring hope to the Venezuelan people, to our communities and demonstrate in service love, empathy, the exercise of science and technology and, above all, the commitment to life”.

This was stated during the graduation ceremony of the 2024 Promotion of the University of Health Sciences (UCS), Hugo Chávez Frías, in Caracas, where they also celebrated 10 years of academic training for preventive health and good living professionals.

Jiménez, who is also Minister of Popular Power for Science and Technology, extended the greetings of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, for this goal achieved in Revolution.

“With joy, pride, empathy and commitment to the peace of the Fatherland, receive the affectionate embrace of President Maduro, who today celebrates this extraordinary graduation with you,” he remarked.

The Minister of Popular Power for Health, Magaly Gutiérrez, and the head of University Education, Ricardo Sánchez, also participated in the event.

Jiménez thanked the efforts of teachers and educational staff that made it possible to train these new comprehensive community doctors and doctors, senior technicians, specialists, nurses and nurses, who completed their undergraduate and postgraduate academic training in classrooms throughout Venezuela and in outpatient clinics, CDI, SRI and public hospitals.

He recalled that the university has more than 280 training centers in the national territory, which demonstrates to the world and the country the space for health education inherited by President Nicolás Maduro thanks to the efforts of Commander Hugo Chávez at the beginning of the 21st century.

“It's the first university in the country for training in health and science. You are graduates of the highest school of study that concentrates public health services in Venezuela, which meets 98% of health needs,” he stressed.

He urged expanding these training centers and “creating new spaces” where it is possible to close the technological gap and expand the participation of new generations of students, who in the next 50 years as professionals will meet the health needs of the next generation of children, young people, women and men in future Venezuela.
