More than 500 allegories will participate in the International Festival of the Locos de La Vela

More than 40 thousand spectators are expected during the cultural event

A total of 535 allegories are registered in the ninth International Festival of the Locos de La Vela 2024, in which more than 275 children and adolescents will participate as a result of the Pedagogical Congress, as reported by the Government of Falcón through its Telegram channel.

In addition, the president of the Santos Inocentes Foundation, Pedro Chacón, indicated that they are expecting more than 40,000 spectators during the cultural demonstration that represents the pride of the people of Colinas.

He indicated that this year a delegation from Curaçao, the Do Santo school in São Paulo in Brazil, will participate and the participation of the Santos Negros brotherhood of Barranquilla is about to be confirmed. With regard to national brotherhoods, he said that more than seven states will be present, including Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by Unesco, the San Pedro party, the Callao Carnival, groups and show bands from different regions.

Also, regarding the local presence, he mentioned the Locos de Moruy, the Holy Kings of Cumarebo, the Locos de Mangle and those of the Bolívar municipality.

“We are grateful for the support of Governor Víctor Clark, of CORFALTUR, INATUR, INCUDEF and Mayor Rubén Molina, as well as the people, the bearers of the demonstration and those behind the scenes; all together, year after year we work to position this festival as the best in Venezuela,” he said, together with the regional secretary of tourism, Jorge Haskour.

He also highlighted that this year 27 seasons have been set for the Mojinganga route on the night of December 27; and for the parade on December 28, they will include a special prize for the best mask. Chacón, together with Colina's public security secretary, Jairo Ramírez, said that there is a comprehensive security deployment to ensure an event without negative incidents.
