More than 400 women united to raise their voices in the Anti-Fascist Feminist Tribune for the Fight against Gender-based Violence, organized by the Ministry of Popular Power for Women and Gender Equality (MINMUJER), in the Acoustic Shell of Alí Primera Park, located in the Sucre parish, Bolivarian Libertador municipality of Caracas.

According to information from the PSUV, the Minister for Women, Jhoanna Carrillo, thanked the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, for his strength and courage to defend women and for becoming the protector of Venezuelan women.

“I also thank the Homeland that has given so much to maintain the struggle of the female people. Today we can walk through our land, thanks to many who are unfortunately not with us today,” she said.

She added that as part of the 4th vertex of this social program, she wants every woman to be a torch of light and for every man to join, “because when we talk about feminism and non-aggression, we are fighting for humanity and respect.”

For her part, the Deputy Minister of Women's Productive Development and coordinator of the 5th Summit of the GMVM, Francis Vielma, asserted that Venezuelan women must assume the eradication of gender-based violence and must build families united and with love, to promote a culture of peace and free of violence.

In addition, the representative defender of the National Ombudsman for Women's Rights, Grecia Melero, said that Venezuela, thanks to the Bolivarian Revolution, has an advanced Organic Law on the right of Venezuelan women to a life free of violence.

“The organic law establishes that violence against women is a crime, therefore, under no circumstances is it reconciled, but rather it is reported,” he said.
