In a coordinated effort to safeguard public health and protect domestic wildlife, the state of Aragua has more than 21,000 rabies vaccines within the National Immunization Plan promoted by the entity.
This massive and free deployment is intended for the immunization of dogs and cats, with the purpose of interrupting the chain of transmission of the rabies virus to humans and strengthening the well-being of Aragüeño families.
The initiative has the strong support of Governor Johana Sánchez and the management in the area of Manuel Hernández, coordinator of Animal Care in the entity.
In addition, the plan is implemented in a strategic alliance between the Nevado Mission and the Ministry of Popular Power for Health (MINSALUD), deploying brigades and itinerant points to guarantee direct and community access in the different municipalities of the state.
Hernández said: “We are guaranteeing free care for our pets throughout the Aragüeño territory. Thanks to the permanent coordination between Misión Nevado, MinSalud and the regional government, we bring this significant number of doses and veterinary services to cover every corner of our communities.”
During the days, in addition to the anti-rabies dose applied to pets from 3 to 4 months of age with their subsequent annual reinforcement, veterinary medical teams offer comprehensive primary care that includes general consultations, deworming and vitamin administration.
