Monagas reported tourism growth during 2023

In the state of Monagas, tourism was one of the fastest growing areas in 2023 thanks to the sectoral policies promoted by the National Executive and the efforts of the regional government.

This was stated by the single tourism authority, Rosy Salazar, in an assessment of the scope in 2023, a year of great impetus to profile Monagas as an ideal destination in eastern Venezuela. The contributions include the validation of the First Tourist Route in Monagas “Caripe and its Enchantments” and the progress made to certify the Caicara Monkey Cultural Route.

The also president of Corpoturismo stressed that through different programs it was possible to establish an important synergy between the community, the State and the Ministry of Tourism to together promote the natural benefits of the region, with a view to economic strengthening, entrepreneurship and the consolidation of sustainable tourism.

“We focus both on the promotion of spaces and on the promotion of a tourist culture, so we launched the School Program “Together Tourism and Environment” for 581 boys and girls in schools in the Maturín municipality and we accompanied the Social Tourism Program with the El Niño Simón Monagas Regional Foundation,” Salazar explained.

He also highlighted the promotion of the Oil, Tourism and Gas Expo; Adventure Tourism Expo and Monagas Business Expo 2023, events held at full house that promoted the potential of Monagas and encouraged investment in the entity.

On the social front, Salazar specified that young people and older adults were treated with the Tourist Route to Caripe, thanks to the invaluable support of Transmonagas.

In addition, in the Inatur-Corpoturismo alliance, more than 3,200 passengers were received at the José Tadeo Monagas International Airport at the close of November 2023.
