More than 150 women from the Las Cocuizas parish in the Maturín municipality were treated during a medical-care day, organized within the framework of the Pink Month.
The activity, which was led by the Minister of Popular Power for Women and Gender Equality (MINMUJER), Yelitze Santaella, who was accompanied by Governor Ernesto Luna and the mayor of the Maturín municipality, Ana Fuentes, offered breast ultrasound, cytology, cervical cancer screening and consultation services.
The minister, Yelitze Santaella, emphasized the transformative importance of preventive medicine, while making a special call to all women over 35 to prioritize their regular checkups for the early detection of any anomaly.
“Today we are caring with love to 150 women on this full day. It's vital that we attend our routine medical checkups. Although breast and cervical cancer have a high incidence, detected early, they are preventable and curable. That's why the permanent call is to take care of yourself and touch yourself so that it doesn't touch you,” Santaella confirmed.
For his part, the governor, Ernesto Luna, stressed that the culture of annual medical check-ups is a firm decision to preserve the life, tranquility and stability of the family nucleus.
“In this Pink Month, we are caring for our women with their breast cancer screening tests. It's a beautiful day of prevention designed for the well-being of Monaguense women,” said the regional president.
Finally, the mayor of Maturín, Ana Fuentes, emphasized that women are the fundamental pillar of Venezuelan society and family, so ensuring their comprehensive health constitutes a permanent priority within local public policies.
