The candidate of the Venezuelan revolutionary forces, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted this Sunday that he began his political career in the neighborhoods of Caracas, together with the People and under the guidance of Commander Hugo Chávez.
“When I come to the neighborhoods of Greater Caracas, I always remember the years in which I forged myself as a revolutionary. I didn't rely on last names (...) I'm the Pueblo president,” said the Bolivarian leader during a meeting with the communities of Petare, in the Sucre municipality of Miranda state.
He pointed out that his “school was not Harvard, it was the neighborhoods, with the people on foot, and on that road I met our Commander Chávez and he said: 'Come with me Nicolás', and I left without ever hesitating.”
“I was the son and the soldier of that great boss and I am still that son, that soldier, that loyal man. I was loyal to Chávez and now I am the son, the soldier of you, the people of Venezuela.”
