Miranda state leads participation in the Venezuelan Registry of Science, Technology and Innovation (RECITVEN), with more than 9,200 researchers, technologists, innovators and students enrolled, followed by the Capital District, with 8,055 registered professionals, and the state of Zulia, with 7,161.

The official platform has accumulated a total of 77,148 research products at the national level since its launch in June 2024, according to national statistics released this Thursday.

The Secretary of Science and Technology, María Marcano, explained that the system allows us to know precisely the scientific talent, the installed infrastructure and the laboratories available in the territory. “This comprehensive diagnosis not only includes experienced scientists, but it also actively integrates popular technologists, students from the Scientific Seed and technical support staff,” he said.

The registered projects are aimed at national productive engines in areas such as food security, health, biomedicine, basic sciences, energy, hydrocarbons, industrial development, telecommunications, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and climate change.

The systematization of this database is intended for the formulation of coordinated public policies between the Regional Executive and the National Fund for Science, Technology and Innovation (FONACIT). In addition, the authorities of the Territorial Cabinet of Science and Technology agreed to install a scientific corridor that will cover the communes of Miranda for three days, within the framework of the Popular Consultation of October 18.
