The Miranda state government inaugurated the Guillermo Ribas Cimarrón Chocolate School in the state's Paéz municipality.

According to a press release, this initiative seeks to strengthen, through science, the artisanal and empirical knowledge of producers.

“There is a debt to this town of producers, we want the price of cocoa to have the right value and for that knowledge is essential,” said the municipality's highest authority, Agustín Monterola.

The school is part of the Development Plan in the Productive Economic Pole promoted in Miranda, so its actions are aimed at promoting the cocoa sector, so that this sector regains its position in the national and international markets, as it occupied in Agrarian Venezuela.

In addition to the school, a Cocoa Genetic Research Center is scheduled to be inaugurated in Miranda, which will be supported by the Ministry of People's Power for Science and Technology.
