The Minister of People's Power for Tourism, Alí Padrón, presented the seals and the badge that recognize the standards of quality and service sustainability to the tourism sector, as a certification established with the purpose of improving service.

“These seals will strengthen the management that has been developed to comply with good tourism practices,” Padrón said, highlighting that, for the first time, the tourism sector has “Quality Seals”, for distinctions in Organizational Management and Work, Environmental Performance, Customer Service and Tourism Tours.

“We are complying with international standards that allow us to visualize those spaces with quality management, a new tool for working efficiently and effectively in tourism management,” he said.

The minister reported that for next year, three additional stamps will be presented that highlight the Manual of Good Practices for Tourism Guides, the Accessibility of People in Tourist Accommodation Establishments and Active Tourism Practices.

For his part, the president of the Venezuelan Association of Five Star Hotels, Luis Seprúm, said that this new tool shows that the product or service of the tourist establishment has a special quality. “This will ensure that domestic and international tourists have access to a premium quality service,” he explained.

For his part, the president of the Superior Council of Tourism of Venezuela (Conseturismo), Leudo González, congratulated Minister Padrón for this initiative. “For the private sector, these seals are very important, it is an aspiration that we had for a long time, to have a certification that would facilitate the choice of quality within the wide range of the tourism market,” he said.

The activity also included the participation of the Deputy Minister of International Tourism, Leticia Gómez; the executive director of the National Institute of Tourism, Asdrúbal Rincones; representatives of the Decentralized Service for Standardization, Quality, Metrology and Technical Regulations (SENCAMER) and other authorities related to the sector.
