Ministry of University Education provides psychological care to those affected by earthquakes

The Ministry of University Education offers psychological care to people who were affected by the earthquakes of June 24, said its head, Ana María Sanjuán.

In statements collected by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), the minister explained that after the preliminary diagnosis in the transitory camps, experts classify those affected directly, because they lost family members or were rescued from a tragedy and in which, without having suffered loss of life or material, they are withdrawn or have other psychological consequences for what they experienced.

“We are providing direct care with psychologists and psychiatrists to people who are direct victims or relatives of those victims and, in addition, victims who lost their homes,” he explained.

In this regard, he highlighted the immediate willingness of mental health professionals to care for affected citizens, in addition to the fact that they have provided training to recent graduates.
