The Minister of Popular Power for Science and Technology, Yván Gil, reported, through Telegram, that activities began for World Space Week, with the participation of more than 200 boys and girls from the Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda Educational Complex.
During the day, students enjoyed telescopic observations and formative talks to explore the universe.
The institution noted that these initiatives seek to enable students to develop skills, awaken their curiosity about the sciences of the cosmos and promote vocations in the STEM areas: science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
The ministry recalled that World Space Week is the largest global public celebration dedicated to the dissemination of space science and technology. It was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1999 to highlight the contribution of space exploration to the improvement of the human condition and to sustainable development.
