The Ministry of Popular Power for Health made an important breakthrough for Venezuelan public medicine by successfully carrying out, for the first time in the state of Carabobo, a complex evacuation procedure on a 79-year-old patient in the Surgery A service at the Dr. Enrique Tejera Hospital City in Valencia.
The medical procedure involved the participation of the general surgeon and abdominal wall specialist, Henry Casar, from San Cristóbal, who explained that the approach required cutting-edge techniques such as the application of botulinum toxin for a defect greater than 10 centimeters and preparation with preoperative pneumoperitoneum to prevent compartment syndrome, details the ministerial portfolio on his social networks.
During the surgical procedure, the first subsequent separation of components was performed with the release of adhesions and the sac, complemented by the bilateral ART technique, the placement of a 30 by 30 centimeter synthetic mesh and a reconstruction abdominoplasty.
