Ministry of Health developed unprecedented brain surgeries in the Hospital City of Valencia

A total of two unprecedented and highly complex brain neurosurgeries were successfully performed free of charge at the Dr. Enrique Tejera Hospital City (CHET) in Valencia, a medical achievement that marks a historic milestone within the National Public Health System (SPNS) in the state of Carabobo.

The first case involved a stereotactic brain biopsy under the awake patient modality, an intervention with maximum precision surgical, which was developed thanks to the highly trained health professionals and the modern infrastructure of operating rooms, after the reopening of the first phase of CHET, according to a press release from the ministerial portfolio.

Migyeri Chirinos, director of the CHET Medical Surgical Building, reported on the second highly complex intervention that successfully culminated in the extubated patient. “With great pride, the first vascular neurosurgery with ruptured cerebral aneurysm clipping was performed on a 56-year-old patient,” he said.
