With the objective of strengthening the culture of prevention and consolidating safe spaces in schools across the country, the Ministry for Education is holding a national day of evacuation drills in the face of seismic events and emergency situations.

The activity, scheduled for October 28, 29 and 30, marks the beginning of these practices contemplated within the First Pedagogical Moment of the school year.

According to a press release, the Deputy Minister of Education, Graciela Rapisarda, congratulated all the educational institutions that added their classrooms to this preventive experience and stressed the importance of direct coordination with specialized technical bodies.

Rapisarda emphasized that the fundamental purpose is to ensure that each institution understands the need to consolidate safe, resilient spaces prepared for seismic events or any type of adverse emergency, so she urged educational communities to actively coordinate with Civil Protection, Funvisis, the Red Cross and other security and training bodies.

In addition, the Deputy Minister detailed the strategic actions that must be activated in each campus, including the formation and operation of the Risk Management and School Safety Committees, continuous training for managers, teachers, students and families, the development of visible risk maps with evacuation routes and the carrying out of ongoing training to evaluate actions before, during and after eviction.

He confirmed that these prevention days will be repeated in the second and third pedagogical moments of the school period, without affecting the internal practices that each school decides to plan.

The simulation exercise has been carried out simultaneously in various regions of the national territory, showing a coordinated deployment between the education sector and citizen security agencies
