This Wednesday, September 25, the Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, reiterated his call to condemn the elimination of Unilateral Coercive Measures (MCU), assuring that they represent a flagrant violation of the Charter of the United Nations and of all norms of international law.

The call was made in his speech at the General Debate of the 79th Regular Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), in New York.

In this regard, he emphasized that “these measures constitute mass violations of human rights, including the right to development, as well as true crimes against humanity.”

“We reiterate our call for the complete, immediate and unconditional lifting of all the regimes of so-called sanctions and blockades that are currently being applied against more than a third of humanity, including thirty (30) million Venezuelans,” he stressed.

At this point, Gil expressed: “Our solidarity with the sisters and brothers of Belarus, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Cuba, Eritrea, Iran, Nicaragua, Syria, Zimbabwe and so many other peoples who suffer daily the effects of these criminal policies.”
