Through the social network X, the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, reported that he arrived last Sunday in Egypt to participate in the Cairo International Book Fair, to which he was invited by the government of the aforementioned country.

“My counterpart, the Egyptian Minister of Culture, Neveen Youssef Muhammad Al-Kilany, was kind enough to greet me at the airport,” Villegas explained after his arrival in one of the most populated Arab countries.

In addition, he highlighted that the Cairo International Book Fair “is the second largest in the world after the one in Frankfurt and the largest and oldest in the Arab world”; and Venezuela will participate with its own stand, where they will find hundreds of titles by Venezuelan authors .

He stressed that part of the books carried by Venezuela will also be donated “to the historic Library of Alexandria and to universities with Spanish language courses.”

He also indicated that he will also be fulfilling an official agenda, “to enhance relations between our countries in different areas of the arts and cultural heritage. One of the areas of cooperation that I will propose relates to National Film Day (...) co-production and other forms of cinematographic exchange. In addition to its fascinating history and cultural heritage, Egypt has the largest audiovisual industry in the Middle East.”
