Through the social network X, the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, lamented the physical departure of Master Luis Alberto Galíndez, who leaves a great mark on the plastic arts in Venezuela.

“I join the grief that grieves the Venezuelan artistic community, and of the state of Lara in particular, for the physical disappearance of the master painter Luis Galíndez, who leaves his mark on the plastic arts and on the hearts of those who militated with him in the noblest causes,” Villegas wrote on the social network.

He also recalled that “without being an abstract painter, he was at the forefront of contemporary art with his search for Caribbean and Latin American telluric roots. That's where Galíndez came from, who became a vehement cultivator of informal plastic.”

In addition, he stressed that Galíndez in his paintings the colors fulfilled “a symbolic function of the material and spiritual of the Venezuelan ethnic groups”.
