The Minister of Popular Power for University Education, Ana María Sanjuán, highlighted the integration of condominium residents with community councils during the Second National Popular Consultation, a process that demonstrated an exercise in participatory democracy and the recognition of new spaces for joint work as part of the program for Peace and Democratic Coexistence.

The official said that citizens went to the polls with clear proposals and a defined agenda. “The issue of elevators, which we know has had such an impact on condominiums, the problem of the lack of response to repair it; so they put together their list,” said Sanjuán, stressing that this process does not end with election day.

He also mentioned the participation of young people in the formulation of infrastructure projects. “A young woman gave me her project for a square in an area of Tamarindos, and the square was not only for young people but also for the elderly who were there,” she explained, stating that democracy manifested itself in a transversal way.

Sanjuán recalled that this initiative is part of the policies promoted by Minister Ángel Prado since February, and recognized the work of the leader Lankin González, who continues to tour the voting centers. “It has been a matter of recognition of new work spaces; it is a hope for the objective of peace and democratic coexistence that the country wants,” he concluded.
