The Minister of People's Power for Petroleum, Delcy Rodríguez, assured that President Nicolás Maduro is still fighting for Venezuela to join the BRICS.

During the launch of the National Historical, Patriotic, Revolutionary and Petrochemical Bloc, Rodríguez argued that the BRICS detached itself from imperial hegemonism. “It is a block of the new world, which is built, which is built on different concepts and principles of international relations,” he said.

“ They are not a relationship of vassalage, of extortion, of blackmail, but of equal relations between sovereign states that internationalize into an international community,” he said.

He also stressed that the greatest contribution to the world economy comes from the BRICS countries, it no longer comes from the United States, nor from European countries,” he said.

On the other hand, on behalf of President Maduro, he thanked the petrochemical workers for all the meetings they have held, all the conclusions they have made to improve.

What's left for Venezuela's petrochemical industry is future, hope and it's growth and thanks to the workers who are going to guarantee that process,” he concluded.
