The Minister of Popular Power for Communes and Social Movements, Ángel Prado, stressed that the Election of Justices of the Peace, which took place this Sunday in the country's communal circuits, exceeded expectations.

In that sense, during the assessment he made in the Al Aire program, he said that the Judges and Judges elected by the People are people with leadership, who will be useful for the Peace Committees that will help the community in resolving conflicts and will support the powers of the State.

Prado said that the judges are scheduled to be appointed this Monday and a commission will meet to work on the electoral process on January 26, where the projects of the communes will be nominated.

He also stated that the People are clear about the task that corresponds to each judge. In addition, he stressed that the person who voted did so with the confidence that he will have a Justice of the Peace Committee, which will advise young people not to repeat themselves in a problem.

With this electoral process, the community recognizes itself, many of the elected people have years of working in the community,” he said.

He explained that every six months an assembly will be convened, with the participation of community members and the entire population, for the accountability of that collegial body. “The assembly will determine if justice has really been done. The Peace Committee is part of the structure of the commune. Each community council will have a binding spokesperson for the Peace Committee and may request a review if the justice of the peace does not fulfill his function”,

He indicated that the training process is coming to strengthen knowledge of the law and the link between the structure that administers justice in this country. At the same time, he specified that there are cases that cannot be resolved within the community, and will be transferred to another instance.

“With this election, there is a dynamic of popular government; the powers of the State are being brought to the territory. The Executive Branch in the territory, which are the Working Committees; the Legislative, which is the Communal Parliament; the Electoral Commissions, which work together with the National Electoral Council; Now there is the Justice of Peace Committee, which represents the expression of the Judicial Power in the territory,” he emphasized.
