The National Executive lifted the temporary suspension of the use of drones in the agricultural sector, a measure that will allow the resumption of tasks such as fertilization, irrigation and crop monitoring, said the Minister of People's Power for Productive Agriculture and Lands, Vladimir Padrino López.
“In response to requests from our agricultural producers, President Delcy Rodríguez has decided to lift the temporary suspension of drone use in 2025. This expected measure marks a key step for the modernization of the field,” Padrino López said on his social networks
The minister indicated that the decision was adopted after discussions with the ministries of Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, Defense and Transportation, and that its use will be standardized within the framework of current laws.
To ensure safe integration, Padrino López urged operators to manage their permits before the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC), as well as to have certification, civil liability insurance policy and training in the responsible use of equipment. He also reported that together with the National Integrated Customs and Tax Administration Service (SENIAT), the procedures for importing equipment, parts and batteries are managed.
The head of Agriculture recalled that the regulations for the control of civil aeronautical activity with remotely piloted aircraft, published in the Official Gazette in May 2025, are still in force, which provide for the supervision of the carrying and use of drones by police forces and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces.
