The Minister of Popular Power for Tourism, Leticia Gómez, held a meeting this Friday with a work team from Venezolana de Teleféricos (VENTEL) to propose strategies for the reactivation of the Warairarepano-Macuto section, as previously instructed by President Nicolás Maduro.

“Together with the VENTEL work team, we held a meeting to discuss strategies that contribute to the reactivation of the Warairarepano - Macuto section project, as instructed by our president, Nicolás Maduro,” said the owner on her account on the social network Instagram.

Last Thursday, President Maduro requested to resume the construction project of the Warairarepano-Macuto Cable Car System, which connects the coast of the central coast with the country's capital.

Consequently, he instructed the completion of this transport connection that will promote tourism between the coastal state and Caracas to public servants, including the executive vice president, Delcy Rodríguez; mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez; governor of the state of La Guaira, José Alejandro Terán; and mayor of the Vargas municipality, José Manuel Suárez.

This cable car will extend over a route of 7.5 linear kilometers, to connect the Venezuelan capital with the mountains and the beach. In addition, it contemplates the construction of four stations: the Warairarepano terminal, San José de Galipán, La Hacienda and the El Cojo terminal, with a journey time of 45 minutes in state-of-the-art cabins.
