This Monday, the Minister of People's Power for Petroleum, Delcy Rodríguez, announced the completion of the seismic exploration campaign at the Cocuina-Manakin Field shared with Trinidad and Tobago.

“The British Petroleum (BP) ship campaign with Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela to carry out seismic studies that constitute for the gas reserve in the Cocuina field has just ended,” Rodríguez reported, during a television contact on VTV.

He explained that it is a project that was signed as part of Venezuela's energy expansion with neighboring countries. “Venezuela is setting out to export them for the first time in the world, ” he added.

He also highlighted that this type of study is being carried out for the first time after 12 years. “Everything was achieved thanks to the impetus of President Nicolás Maduro and the working class of the Ministry of Petroleum, who are strongly committed to development in our country, to the happiness of our people,” he said.

The minister stressed that the culmination of this seismic exploration campaign in the Cocuina field reaffirms the impetus that Venezuela is giving to this project to become a gas exporter.

It should be noted that in July of this year, President Maduro and the delegation of Trinidad and Tobago headed by the Minister of Energy and Energy Industries , Stuart Richard Young, signed important documents, as part of the licenses for the exploration and exploitation of non-associated gaseous hydrocarbons in the Cocuina field of the Delta platform.
