The Minister of Popular Power for Education, Héctor Rodríguez, denied this Sunday that his Office has refused private educational institutions to start the 2024-2025 academic period before September 30, as scheduled in the school calendar.
“At no time has my office denied the start of the school year in those schools that had already scheduled it,” Rodríguez wrote on his Telegram channel.
He also added that “no official is authorized to deny this possibility”, and that the deadline for the start of classes was set on September 30, which does not deny “the possibility of starting earlier as each school deems it, if this adds to the education and well-being of our children and young people”.
Rodríguez's response is due to the fact that information has been circulating in which suspensions or delays in the start of classes in private institutions are attributed to the governing body.
