The Minister of People's Power for Electric Energy, Jorge Márquez, denounced this Wednesday a new terrorist attack against the national electricity service and stated that workers in the sector are making effective progress to resolve the situation in the affected areas of the country.

Through a telephone contact with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), Márquez explained that the attack was direct against the transmission system. “These terrorists only think about hurting our country, while our people are working to move forward,” expression”.

He reported that specialists are “recovering all the burden to restore service throughout the country”, so he congratulated the response of the CORPOELEC workers to this new attack, stressing that “there is a class of workers, there is a combative people who are at the forefront fighting to move our country forward as our president Nicolás Maduro says 'they could not and will not be able to, '” he quoted.

Márquez indicated that the attack affected approximately 25% of the country, where “we had a fairly strong impact (...) but thanks to God and our working house we are currently recovering to restore service and guarantee to our people the service they deserve,” he reiterated.
