The Minister of Popular Power for Water Care, Rodolfo Marco Torres, oversaw the modernization of the La Mariposa water plant, located in Miranda state, as measures of the 1x10 Good Governance System to optimize this service in the country.

In the activity, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, Marco Torres explained during a tour of the facilities that, with the rehabilitation work carried out in the first phase, it will reach two thousand liters per second of water (LPS), which will make it possible to purify the water in the Tuy I Production System.

“The entire process of coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation and filtration that is being intervened will go from a mechanical system to a hydraulic system and with the comprehensive rehabilitation of the entire plant we will achieve four thousand 400 LPS,” he said.

The plant has a control chamber, mixing tank, coagulators, sedimentators, recarbonators, filters and laboratories that allow the water in the reservoir to be treated and optimized for human consumption.

For his part, the president of the Hydrological Department of the Capital Region (HIDROCAPITAL), Carlos Mast, explained that this first phase will achieve a great impact on the beneficiary population, improving water quality, as instructed by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.
